About the Role

Our client, a rapidly expanding technology services firm, is seeking an accomplished and visionary Chief Operations Officer (COO) to join its executive leadership team. This critical role, based in Benoni, Gauteng , will be responsible for overseeing the company's operational strategy and execution, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and excellence across all departments. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in driving operational improvements, managing complex projects, and fostering a culture of innovation and high performance within a technology-driven environment. This is a C-suite position with immense potential to shape the company's future.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the company's overall operational strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and market opportunities.
• Oversee and direct all day-to-day operations, including service delivery, project management, IT infrastructure, customer support, and human resources.
• Drive operational efficiency, process optimization, and scalability across all functions to support rapid growth.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics, implementing corrective actions to ensure target achievement.
• Lead and mentor the senior management team, fostering a collaborative, innovative, and results-oriented culture.
• Manage the operational budget, financial planning, and resource allocation to ensure optimal financial performance.
• Ensure the company adheres to all relevant industry regulations, compliance standards, and best practices.
• Identify and implement technological solutions and process improvements to enhance operational effectiveness.
• Manage relationships with key vendors, partners, and stakeholders to ensure smooth business operations.
• Serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, contributing to strategic decision-making and company direction.

Requirements

• A Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a related field.
• A technical background or advanced degree in Computer Science/Engineering is highly desirable.
• A minimum of 15+ years of progressive leadership experience, with at least 7-10 years in a senior operations or executive role (e.g., COO, VP of Operations) within the technology or IT services industry.
• Proven track record of successfully scaling operations in a high-growth environment.
• Deep understanding of technology operations, project management methodologies, and service delivery frameworks.
• Exceptional strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong financial acumen and experience managing large budgets and P&Ls.
• Outstanding leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
• Experience with global operations or managing distributed teams is a plus.
• Ability to drive change and implement innovative solutions.
• Located in or willing to relocate to the Benoni area.
