Placements24 seeks a highly experienced Chief Surveyor to lead the mine surveying department in Rustenburg, North West. You will oversee surface, underground, and stockpile surveys, maintain mine plans and geological models, and implement cutting-edge surveying technologies to ensure accuracy for mine planning and production.

The role requires a strong background in mine surveying, leadership, and excellent attention to detail, with a commitment to the highest standards in the North West mining

Qualifications

• Advanced Diploma or Degree in Surveying or Geomatics.
• Professional registration with a surveying body (e.g., PLATO).
• 7+ years of mining surveying experience, preferably in South Africa.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, GIS, and mine planning packages.
• Experience with GPS, Total Stations, and 3D laser scanning.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the mine surveying department, including staff supervision and workload allocation.
• Conduct and oversee all types of mine surveys, including surface, underground, and stockpile surveys.
• Ensure the accurate creation, maintenance, and updating of mine plans and geological models.
• Implement and maintain the latest surveying technologies and methodologies, including GPS, Total Stations, and 3D laser scanning.
• Perform quality control checks on all survey data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Liaise with engineers, geologists, and production teams to provide essential spatial information.
