About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the company's financial strategy, aligning with overall business objectives.
• Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, treasury, financial planning and analysis, and tax.
• Lead fundraising efforts, including securing venture capital and other forms of financing.
• Manage investor relations and communicate financial performance to stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and reporting requirements.
• Develop and implement robust financial controls and risk management frameworks.
• Provide strategic financial guidance to the CEO and the executive leadership team.
• Drive financial modeling, forecasting, and budget management.
• Optimize capital structure and manage cash flow effectively.
• Build and lead a high-performing, distributed finance team.

Requirements

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) or equivalent international designation (e.g., CPA, CMA).
• Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a CFO or VP of Finance role.
• Proven experience in fundraising (VC, PE) and managing high-growth startup environments.
• Deep understanding of corporate finance, financial strategy, and capital markets.
• Exceptional strategic thinking, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Experience managing distributed teams and working in a fully remote setting.
• Strong knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Experience in the technology/SaaS industry is highly preferred.
• Adaptability and a results-oriented mindset in a fast-paced, evolving landscape.
