Job summary

A leading renewable energy company is seeking an experienced Head of Engineering to lead their engineering function across solar PV and battery energy storage projects. The role includes managing a high-performance team, ensuring designs are compliant and optimised, and providing technical input during project delivery. The ideal candidate has a BEng or BSc in Electrical Engineering, 8–10+ years of experience in renewable energy, and strong solar PV design experience. The position is based in Somerset West, Cape Town.

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years’ experience in renewable energy.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams.
• Solid understanding of South African grid code.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage the engineering team.
• Own end-to-end system design for installations.
• Ensure designs are bankable, compliant, and optimised.
