Job summary

MSP Staffing Pty in Cape Town is seeking a Project Engineer to lead technical engineering actions across renewable energy projects, including Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) integrations.

You will translate project specifications into practical deliverables, highlight risks early, and manage design interfaces between BESS equipment, inverters, EPC contractors, customers and grid stakeholders, with travel across Southern Africa as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Project Engineer in Solar PV, BESS or hybrid renewable energy projects.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical engineering contact throughout project implementation.
• Translate project specifications, customer requirements and contractual commitments into practical engineering deliverables.
• Highlight technical uncertainties, risks, deviations and design requirements at an early stage.
• Manage design interfaces between BESS equipment, inverters, EPC contractors, customers and grid stakeholders.
• Travel to project sites across Southern Africa
• Knowledge of battery energy storage systems and associated electrical infrastructure
