Job summary

Green Recruitment Company is seeking a Head of Engineering to lead the engineering function for a growing renewable energy business focused on commercial & industrial solar PV and battery energy storage across South Africa and Africa.

The role owns engineering standards, technical delivery and design excellence across a portfolio of renewable energy projects, providing technical leadership and ensuring compliance with grid and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of engineering experience.
• Strong experience delivering C&I Solar PV projects.
• Understanding of grid integration and renewable energy technologies.
• BESS experience advantageous.
• Professional registration beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering design for Solar PV and BESS projects.
• Conduct technical assessments, feasibility studies and design reviews.
• Evaluate equipment, system configurations and supplier proposals.
• Ensure compliance with SANS, NRS and grid requirements.
• Support procurement, installation, commissioning and handover.
• Establish engineering processes, standards and quality controls.
• Provide technical leadership across the business.

This senior leadership role will take ownership of engineering standards, technical delivery and design excellence across a growing portfolio of renewable energy projects.
