Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an AI Ethics Lead to guide responsible AI development and deployment in Mahikeng. The role focuses on building and enforcing ethics frameworks, governance structures, and policies to ensure fairness, transparency, and accountability across AI initiatives.

You will educate internal teams on ethical considerations, conduct risk assessments, and collaborate with regulators and academia to advance trustworthy AI within the organization and broader society.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Ethics, Philosophy, Law, Computer Science, or a related field with a focus on AI ethics.
• 7+ years of experience in ethics, responsible innovation, or technology policy, with significant exposure to AI/ML.

Responsibilities

• Develop and champion the organization's AI ethics strategy, policies, and best practices.
• Lead ethical reviews and risk assessments for AI projects, identifying potential biases and unintended consequences.
• Establish governance mechanisms for AI systems, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
• Educate and advise internal teams (engineering, product, legal) on AI ethics principles and considerations.
• Collaborate with external stakeholders, including regulators and academic institutions, on AI ethics matters.
