Placements24, on behalf of our client, seeks a Senior AI Ethics and Governance Lead based in Mahikeng, North West. You will establish and govern the AI ethics framework, align with legal and compliance teams, and guide cross-functional groups on responsible AI deployment.

The role focuses on policy development, risk assessment, regulatory compliance, training, and metrics to measure governance effectiveness.

Qualificações

• Master's degree or equivalent in Law, Ethics, Public Policy, Computer Science, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in ethics, compliance, risk management, or governance with a focus on AI or emerging tech.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts and their ethical implications.
• Experience in developing and implementing policy and governance frameworks.
• Knowledge of data protection laws and AI-related regulations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive change within an organization.
• Experience in the North West region or related industries is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive AI ethics policy and governance framework.
• Assess and mitigate ethical risks associated with AI systems throughout their lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and internal policies.
• Collaborate with AI development teams to embed ethical considerations into the design and development process.
• Conduct training and awareness programs for employees on AI ethics and responsible AI practices.
• Monitor emerging trends, regulations, and best practices in AI ethics and governance.
• Advise leadership on strategic decisions related to AI ethics and risk management.
• Establish metrics and reporting mechanisms to track the effectiveness of AI governance initiatives.
