Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Chemical Engineer to join the Quality Control and Assurance team in Paarl, Western Cape. The role balances on-site laboratory work with remote data analysis and administrative tasks.

The ideal candidate will hold a relevant degree and 2–4 years in QC/QA or analytical chemistry, with strong analytical techniques like spectroscopy and chromatography and a solid grasp of SPC and ISO 9001 standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical sciences or related field.
• 2–4 years in quality control, quality assurance, or analytical chemistry.
• Proficiency in spectroscopy and chromatography.
• Strong understanding of SPC and quality management principles.
• Excellent laboratory skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Proficient in data analysis and reporting tools.
• Ability to work in a hybrid setting.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and implement quality control testing methods.
• Perform routine and non-routine chemical analyses on materials and products.
• Analyze quality data, identify trends, and report findings to management.
• Investigate quality issues and implement CAPA.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with production to optimize processes for quality improvement.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and calibration.
• Assist in internal and external quality audits.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of the QMS.
