Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a detail-oriented Chemical Process Engineer to optimize production in Mossel Bay. You will analyze current operations, identify bottlenecks, and design improvements to boost yield and reduce costs.

This role focuses on enhancing efficiency and sustainability within the client’s chemical production processes. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering with 5+ years of experience in process optimization, proficient user of Excel and Python for data

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
5+ years of experience in chemical process engineering, with a strong emphasis on process optimization and troubleshooting.
Proficiency in process simulation software and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Python for data analysis).
Solid understanding of chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, and unit operations.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles is advantageous.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

Analyze existing chemical processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for optimization.
Develop and implement process improvements to increase yield, reduce waste, and lower operating costs.
Conduct data analysis from plant operations, using statistical tools to monitor performance and support decision-making.
Design and oversee pilot studies and plant trials for process modifications and new technologies.
Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to ensure successful implementation and integration of process changes.
Prepare technical reports detailing findings, recommendations, and project outcomes.
