Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a diligent Chemical Engineer for production support in a Paarl-based facility. The role focuses on troubleshooting, optimizing processes, and implementing improvements to ensure safe, efficient operations and high product quality.

You will collaborate with plant operators and maintenance staff, develop SOPs, and contribute to safety and quality compliance. A 2–4 year production-focused background is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• 2–4 years of experience in chemical plant production support or operations.
• Knowledge of chemical unit operations and process control.
• Familiarity with safety procedures and environmental regulations in manufacturing.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate technical information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Provide immediate technical support to the production team to resolve operational issues and minimize downtime.
• Monitor process performance, identify deviations from standards, and implement corrective actions.
• Assist in the execution of process improvement projects aimed at increasing efficiency, yield, and safety.
• Participate in root cause analysis for production problems and implement sustainable solutions.
• Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training materials for production staff.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards during all production activities.
