About the Role

Our client seeks a diligent and analytical Chemical Process Engineer with a focus on optimization to join their operations in Rustenburg. You will play a vital role in improving the efficiency, yield, and cost-effectiveness of existing chemical manufacturing processes. This hybrid position allows for both on-site analysis and remote collaboration, offering flexibility while ensuring hands-on engagement with production realities. Your expertise will be critical in identifying bottlenecks, implementing improvements, and ensuring consistent high-quality output.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze process data to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, yield, energy consumption, and waste reduction.
• Develop and implement process modifications and optimization strategies, including tuning control loops and adjusting operating parameters.
• Conduct root cause analysis for process deviations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to troubleshoot operational issues and implement sustainable solutions.
• Support the scale-up of new products or process modifications from pilot to full production.
• Prepare technical reports and present findings and recommendations to management and operational teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• 3-5 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing or process engineering role, with a strong emphasis on process optimization.
• Proficiency in data analysis techniques and process simulation tools.
• Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
• Understanding of chemical plant operations, safety procedures, and environmental regulations.
