Job summary

Placements24 in Gauteng’s Tembisa is seeking an innovative Chemical Process Development Engineer to lead design, scale-up, and optimization of chemical processes from laboratory to pilot plant and beyond. You will work with a team of scientists and engineers to bring new chemical products to life, developing PFDs, P&IDs, and performing PHAs while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in Chemical Engineering is required.
• Proven experience in chemical process development and scale-up.
• Familiarity with process control strategies and instrumentation.
• Strong analytical skills and experience with statistical analysis of data.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and regulatory compliance in chemical operations.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute experiments to develop and optimize new chemical processes.
• Scale up processes from lab to pilot plant and address engineering challenges.
• Develop detailed process documentation, including PFDs and P&IDs.
• Perform PHAs and implement safety measures.
• Analyze experimental data and prepare comprehensive technical reports.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams for technology transfer.
