Job summary

Placements24 in Benoni is seeking a skilled Chemical Plant Operator to join the production team, responsible for the safe and efficient operation of chemical processing equipment and systems to maintain production schedules and product quality.

You will adhere to SOPs, monitor controls, respond to alarms, and record batch data and quality measurements while complying with strict safety and environmental standards in Gauteng.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or equivalent qualification.
• Relevant experience as a Chemical Plant Operator or in a similar industrial process environment is highly desirable.
• Understanding of basic chemical processes, safety procedures, and environmental compliance.
• Ability to read and interpret process diagrams and operating manuals.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends, as required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor chemical processing equipment, including reactors, pumps, filters, and control systems.
• Perform routine checks and calibrations on equipment to ensure optimal performance and accuracy.
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) meticulously for all production tasks.
• Respond to alarms and abnormal operating conditions, taking appropriate corrective actions.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas, adhering to all site safety and environmental regulations.
• Accurately record production data, batch information, and quality control measurements.
