Placements24 is seeking a diligent Chemical Engineer to focus on Plant Operations at their Klerksdorp facility. The role emphasizes ensuring efficiency, safety, and reliability of chemical manufacturing, with hands-on troubleshooting and optimization of process parameters.

You will work with maintenance and operations teams, develop SOPs, and contribute to yield improvements while complying with safety and environmental regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• At least 3 years of experience in a chemical plant operations or process engineering role.
• Knowledge of process safety management (PSM) principles.
• Ability to work in a plant environment, including shift work if required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor plant operations, analyze performance data, and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
• Troubleshoot process upsets, equipment malfunctions, and quality deviations promptly and effectively.
• Implement process changes and improvements to enhance yield, reduce waste, and lower costs.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations within the plant.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams on equipment reliability and preventive maintenance programs.
• Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and provide training to plant operators.
