Placements24 seeks a Chemical Engineer to lead New Product Introduction at the Mahikeng facility, bridging product development and manufacturing. You will design, optimize, and troubleshoot processes during initial production to ensure smooth scale-up from pilot to full production.

The role requires 4–7 years of process engineering experience, strong reactor and separation knowledge, and excellent communication to coordinate with R&D, manufacturing, and QA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• 4-7 years of experience in chemical process engineering, with a focus on new product introduction or scale-up.
• Proven experience in process design, optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with stage-gate processes and project management principles.
• Strong understanding of chemical reaction engineering and separation technologies.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the scale-up and validation of new chemical manufacturing processes from pilot to commercial scale.
• Develop detailed process documentation, operating procedures, and control strategies for new products.
• Collaborate closely with R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams during product launches.
• Conduct process hazard analyses and ensure all safety and environmental requirements are met.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during the initial production runs.
• Implement process improvements to optimize yield, quality, and cost-effectiveness for new products in Mahikeng.
