Placements24 is seeking an innovative Chemical Engineer to join its Research and Development team in Polokwane, Limpopo. The role focuses on exploring novel chemical processes and scaling up promising lab results in state-of-the-art facilities.

You will conduct experiments, analyze data, and develop processes with potential for commercialization while collaborating with chemists, materials scientists, and project managers.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience in laboratory research and experimental design.
• Strong understanding of chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, and separation processes.
• Proficiency in analytical techniques and instrumentation.
• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative research environment.
• Experience with process simulation software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute laboratory experiments to investigate new chemical reactions and processes.
• Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and draw conclusions regarding process feasibility.
• Develop and optimize chemical processes for potential commercialization.
• Conduct feasibility studies and pilot-scale trials for new product development.
