Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly qualified Welding Inspector to join the QA team in Sandton. The incumbent will inspect welds, monitor procedures, and verify compliance throughout fabrication to uphold the highest quality and safety standards. The role requires meticulous attention to detail and strong NDT knowledge.

Responsibilities include visual welding inspections, witnessing qualifications, reviewing procedures and codes, and documenting findings. AWS/CSWIP certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Certified Welding Inspector with AWS CSWIP preferred.
• Extensive welding inspection experience across multiple industries.
• Strong knowledge of welding processes and metallurgy.
• Ability to interpret welding symbols, codes and technical docs.
• Experience with MT, PT, UT and RT is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspections of welds and welding processes to ensure compliance with codes and standards (AWS, ASME).
• Witness welder qualifications and production welding tests.
• Review welding procedures, specifications and quality control plans.
• Interpret weld symbols, blueprints and technical drawings.
• Utilize various non-destructive testing methods as required for inspection.
• Maintain detailed inspection records and report on quality conformance and any non-conformities.
