Job summary

Placements24 is seeking dedicated Catering Staff Members to join its events team in Soweto, Gauteng. You will assist with event setup, serve guests, replenish stations, and help with breakdown and cleanup to ensure events run smoothly and successfully.

This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about hospitality, enjoy teamwork, and are flexible about working evenings, weekends, and holidays. Training and opportunities for growth are provided in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in customer service or hospitality is advantageous but not required.
• Willingness to learn and a positive attitude.
• Good communication and guest interaction skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow directions.
• Physical stamina to stand and perform tasks during events.
• Ability to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Must reside in or be able to commute to Soweto, Gauteng.
• Enthusiasm for hospitality industry.

Responsibilities

• Assist with setting up event spaces (tables, chairs, linens, decorations).
• Serve food and beverages to guests courteously.
• Replenish stations to ensure availability.
• Clear tables and maintain dining area cleanliness.
• Assist with breakdown after events.
• Handle food and beverages with care following hygiene protocols.
• Wash dishes and catering equipment; store properly.
• Follow supervisor instructions to ensure smooth operations.
• Report concerns to supervisor.
• Provide general support to catering team to ensure event success.
