Job summary

DotActiv (Pty) Ltd. in Kenilworth, Western Cape, is seeking a Category Planner to create strategic assortment plans, build data-driven shelf layouts, and conduct space and floor plan analyses on-site.

You will leverage DotActiv software to profile clusters, support clients with insights, and contribute to optimizing category performance. A relevant degree, English proficiency, and 1–2 years retail experience are preferred, plus a Windows laptop and a valid drivers license.

Qualifications

• Consumer Science or Commerce degree or similar from a recognised university.
• Business English proficiency (speak/read/write).
• 1–2 years retail experience is advantageous.
• Valid driver’s licence and own transport for client meetings.
• Working laptop with Windows; DotActiv software requires Windows.

Responsibilities

• Creating strategic assortment plans.
• Planning and building data-driven shelf plans.
• Conducting floor and space plan analytical reviews.
• Developing optimised cluster plans per product category using the cluster optimizer and maintenance tools in the DotActiv software.
• Analyzing the cluster plan and profiling each cluster to deliver strategic insights to clients.
• Maximising customer and category performance by considering category strategies and shopper psychology.
• Supporting, advising and guiding retail customers where required.
