Job summary

DotActiv, Brackenfell, South Africa, is seeking a Category Planner to create strategic assortment plans, build data-driven shelf layouts, and perform floor and space plan analyses for retail clients.

Requirements include a Consumer Science or Commerce degree, business English proficiency, and 1–2 years of retail experience is advantageous. A valid driver’s license for on-site client visits is required, and a laptop allowance is provided as part of the package.

Qualifications

• A Consumer Science or Commerce degree at a recognised university.
• Business English: speaking, reading and writing at a professional level.
• 1–2 years retail experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Create strategic assortment plans.
• Plan and build data-driven shelf plans.
• Conduct floor and space plan analytical reviews.
• Develop optimised cluster plans per product category using the cluster optimizer and maintenance tools in the DotActiv software.
• Analyse the cluster plan and profile each cluster to deliver strategic insights to clients.
• Maximise customer and category performance by considering category strategies and plans, product financial performance, shopper psychology and aesthetic appeal.
• Support, advise and guide retail customers where required.
