Job summary

Investec in South Africa is seeking a Product and Pricing Consultant – Cash Investments to support accurate pricing, governance, and query resolution across distribution channels, including Corporate, Business, Private Bank and Personal Cash Investments.

The role focuses on setting rates, applying product rules, and delivering practical pricing support to client-facing teams while ensuring risk and governance requirements are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, commerce or related field.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in banking, financial services, product management, pricing or cash investments.
• Sound understanding of deposit products, interest rate pricing, pricing governance and related banking processes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management capability.
• Familiarity with Equation and RTFE systems.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of VB, SQL or data analysis tools is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Query Resolution, Product Support and Stakeholder Management: Release RTFE deals as required. Address interest and account queries related to deposit accounts. Assess and approve or escape exception requests within delegated authority and in line with product rules, pricing governance, documented approval processes and risk considerations.
• Rates Management: Set, track, and publish rates for Investec Cash Investments across all distribution channels. Collaborate with the Balance Sheet Funding money market desk to ensure rates remain competitive and market appropriate. Manage and maintain rate promotions within the Liability Rates Engine. Review and verify pricing data on marketing communications for product specials. Maintain pricing controls and ensure pricing decisions are properly documented, auditable and aligned to approved governance requirements.
• Non-Standard Pricing Requests: Provide bespoke quotes upon request via the Product & Pricing email inbox. Ensure all non-standard pricing decisions comply with the Product & Pricing Policy Framework, delegated mandates and relevant escalation requirements. Conduct competitor pricing analysis to inform rate adjustments and strategies. Identify and escape unusual pricing requests, policy breaches or client behaviour that may create conduct, operational or reputational risk.
• Projects, Training and Operational Risk Support: Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for technology enhancements, system changes and process improvements impacting product and pricing activities. Deliver clear and practical training to client-facing teams on cash investment products, pricing processes, product rules and relevant system changes. Capture, document and support the analysis of risk incidents, control gaps and process issues to inform mitigation actions and continuous improvement. Contribute to process documentation, communication material and implementation support for product, pricing and system changes.
