Job summary

PRO Personnel Employment Agency is seeking a senior capital projects manager for a mining-focused role. You will lead projects from concept through completion, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, consultants and contractors to deliver safe, on-time and within-budget outcomes.

Applicants should have 10–15 years of capital project management experience in mining, strong planning and scheduling skills, and proven ability to manage budgets, risks and stakeholder relationships.

• Lead and manage capital projects from concept through to successful completion.
• Develop and implement project strategies, plans and schedules.
• Coordinate and manage project teams, consultants, suppliers and contractors.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
• Monitor project progress, performance and deliverables.
• Manage project budgets, financial performance and commercial deliverables.
• Oversee project contracts and ensure effective contractual compliance.
• Identify, assess and manage project risks and issues.
• Engage and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Prepare and present project reports, performance updates and relevant documentation.
• Ensure effective project governance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead, coordinate and develop project team members.
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.
• Ensure compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act and all applicable legislation.
• Maintain quality assurance standards throughout all project phases.

Minimum Requirements

• Engineering Diploma or Degree


• Project Management Diploma or Degree


• Minimum 10–15 years' experience managing capital projects


• Previous experience within the mining and/or mineral processing environment


• Proven experience managing projects from concept through to completion


• Strong experience in project planning, scheduling and execution


• Experience managing consultants, suppliers and contractors


• Sound knowledge of financial management, budgeting and cost control


• Experience in contract and risk management


• Knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) and applicable legislation


• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal


• Strong leadership, planning and coordination abilities
