Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Warehouse Operations Manager for our client’s Cape Town facility. You will lead end-to-end warehouse activities, drive efficiency, safety, and high performance in a large team, and shape the operational strategy for the regional distribution centre.

The role requires 7–10 years in warehouse management with 3–5 years in senior leadership, expertise in WMS and ERP, and a strong track record in Lean improvement and budget delivery within the South African logistics

Qualifications

• 7–10 years in warehouse management with 3–5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Experience leading large, complex warehouse operations and sizable teams.
• Strong knowledge of WMS, ERP and supply chain technologies.
• Financial acumen with budgeting experience.
• Health and safety leadership within a warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize warehouse operations.
• Oversee all daily activities: receiving, put-away, picking, packing, shipping and returns.
• Lead a large team with a focus on safety, performance and continuous improvement.
• Maintain inventory control systems to ensure accuracy and minimize discrepancies.
• Develop and manage budgets while maintaining service levels.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with 3PLs and suppliers; leverage WMS and ERP tech to drive performance.
• Conduct regular performance reviews, training, and staff development.
