Job summary

Elesta in Cape Town seeks a highly organized General Manager to oversee luxury private properties. You will ensure impeccable year-round maintenance, coordinate vendors and seasonal staff, and deliver seamless guest experiences.

You will collaborate with clients, their private office, and trusted service providers to manage budgets, oversee maintenance schedules, and ensure safety, compliance, and presentation meet the highest standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate all maintenance and service activities to ensure the property remains in pristine condition year-round.
• Build and manage seasonal operational plans for periods of guest use (summer season) and off-season care.
• Develop and control the annual budget, ensuring accurate tracking of expenses, vendor contracts, and service quality.
• Lead and supervise external vendors and seasonal staff (cleaning, gardening, pool, catering, security) to guarantee consistent high standards.
• Support guest stays by preparing the property before arrival, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, and responding to any urgent needs.
• Ensure compliance with all local regulations, permits, and safety requirements.
• Provide regular reporting to ownership and proactively suggest improvements to enhance efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and guest experience.
