Job summary

Visit.org is seeking an experienced Freelance Event Specialist for on-site, per-event work in Cape Town, South Africa. The role focuses on managing logistics, coordinating staffing, and delivering engaging, high-quality event experiences for corporate volunteering programs.

Based in Cape Town, the candidate will collaborate with partners, manage check-in, troubleshoot challenges, and ensure smooth execution across all event touchpoints.

Qualifications

• Fluent English and strong communication skills are required.
• Experience coordinating large and complex events is preferred.
• Ability to adapt and manage logistics in dynamic environments.
• Customer-focused, professional, and calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all event details, ship materials, and staff for each event as the on-site lead.
• Join virtual planning meetings with corporate partner, nonprofit partner, and Visit.org team.
• Be on-site to set up, run the event, tear down, and ensure a high-quality guest experience.
• Act as Visit.org representative, leader, and problem solver at events.
• Align roles with on-site team including host, nonprofit, venue, staff, and partners.
• Manage check-in and warmly welcome guests.
