You will oversee end-to-end claims handling, drive process improvements, manage relationships with third-party providers, and mentor the team to achieve cost control and fraud prevention goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of claims management experience in short-term insurance.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• In-depth knowledge of short-term insurance products and claims principles.
• Strong understanding of South African legislation and regulatory frameworks.
• Proficient in claims management software and MS Office.
• Excellent negotiation and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of claims adjusters and administrators.
• Oversee end-to-end claims process from notification to final settlement.
• Ensure claims comply with policy terms, conditions, and legislation.
• Develop and implement claims handling procedures and best practices.
• Monitor performance metrics, identify trends, and take corrective action.
• Manage relationships with third-party service providers such as loss adjusters and legal counsel.
• Handle complex or contentious claims escalated by the team.
• Implement strategies to control costs and detect fraud.
• Provide training and development opportunities for the claims team.
