Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Lead 5G Deployment Specialist to spearhead our 5G rollout in Cape Town. You will lead a dedicated team, oversee site surveys, acquisitions, installation, commissioning, and optimization while managing timelines, budgets, and stakeholders.

The role requires 7+ years in mobile network deployment, with 3+ years in 5G, strong PM capabilities, and deep knowledge of 5G NR, RAN, and spectrum allocation. Based in our Cape Town office with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years in mobile network deployment, with at least 3 years focused on 5G.
• In-depth knowledge of 5G NR standards, RAN architecture, and spectrum allocation.
• Proven experience in site acquisition, RF planning, and equipment installation.
• Strong project management skills with track record of delivering complex infrastructure on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design, and deployment of 5G network sites, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
• Manage all phases of the deployment lifecycle, from site survey and acquisition to installation, commissioning, and optimization.
• Oversee a team of field engineers and technicians, providing guidance and ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.
• Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation for 5G rollout initiatives.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders, vendors, and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth project execution.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues encountered during deployment.
• Conduct site feasibility studies and ensure compliance with local regulations and environmental standards.
• Prepare detailed progress reports and present findings to senior management.
• Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to deployment processes and technologies.
