Job summary

Placements24 is actively seeking a 5G Network Implementation Specialist for a leading telecommunications client in South Africa. You will deploy, configure and optimize 5G networks across various sites, work with RAN and core network elements, and drive performance improvements in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of mobile network deployment and implementation with focus on 5G.
• In-depth knowledge of 5G NR, NSA/SA architectures, and 3GPP standards.
• Hands-on experience with RAN equipment (Ericsson, Nokia, Huawei) and 5G core network functions.
• Proficiency in network configuration, scripting, and troubleshooting tools.
• Understanding of IP networking (TCP/IP, routing, firewalls).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Relevant certifications in mobile technologies are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and oversee the deployment of 5G network elements, including base stations, core network functions, and backhaul.
• Configure and optimize 5G RAN and core network parameters to ensure performance and reliability targets are met.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues related to 5G deployment and operation.
• Collaborate with planning, engineering, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of new 5G sites and services.
• Develop and maintain detailed implementation plans, network diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Conduct site surveys and readiness assessments for new 5G deployments.
• Ensure compliance with network standards, security policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in testing and validation phases for new hardware and software releases.
• Provide technical support and guidance to field teams during implementation and troubleshooting.
• Stay current with the latest advancements in 5G technology and industry trends.
