Job summary

Tsebo is seeking a reliable General Assistant to join our catering team at a busy corporate client site in Cape Town. You will support daily food service operations, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment while delivering excellent customer service.

Responsibilities include food prep, serving, stock handling, and adherence to food safety standards. Training will be provided; Grade 12 or equivalent is acceptable.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation and serving of meals.
• Set up and replenish food counters and beverage stations.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchens, dining areas, equipment, and workstations.
• Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
• Receive, unpack, and store stock according to company procedures.
• Assist with stock rotation and minimize wastage.
• Adhere to food safety, hygiene, and health and safety standards.
• Support catering functions, meetings, and special events as required.
• Deliver professional and friendly customer service at all times.
