Job summary

DC Meat in Springbok is seeking a Manager for their Butchery, overseeing daily operations and leading a team of around 25 staff to ensure profitability and high service standards.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of butchery management, strong stock and cash handling skills, and experience with POS systems. Relocation to Springbok is expected if not nearby. A valid driver’s license and focus on hygiene are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of butchery management experience.
• Knowledge of meat cuts including chicken, pork, beef, and lamb.
• Maintain high hygiene, cutting, packing, merchandising and customer service standards.
• Basic computer skills including Excel.
• Experience with Point-Of-Sale software and stock control.
• Experience with Cash-In-Transit processes.
• Stock counting and variance investigations/controls.
• Willingness to relocate to Springbok if needed.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of the full butchery.
• Lead and motivate a team of about 25 people.
• Control stock levels, ordering and GP calculations.
• Maintain merchandising standards and accurate pricing.
• Perform daily cash-ups and banking.
• Open/close operations Mon–Sat.
• Place orders to ensure stock levels; receive deliveries weekly.
• Manage cashiers and POS systems.
• Oversee office and CIT procedures.

DC Meat is seeking a Manager for their Butchery in Springbok.

The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 5 years Butchery Management experience:

• Have knowledge of different cuts of meat, including chicken, pork, beef, sheep/lamb
• Be able to maintain high standards in hygiene, cutting, packing, merchandising, and customer service
• Have basic computer skills excel
• Have experience with Point-Of-Sale software and be able to manage stock levels and orders
• Have experience with Cash-In-Transit companies
• Have experience with stock counting and variance investigations/controls
• Be self-motivated and be able to work under pressure
• Be willing/prepared to relocate to Springbok if not currently located close enough to Springbok
• Must have a valid driver's license

Responsibilities:

• Manage the day to day running of the entire Butchery
• Lead, manage and motivate a team of +/- 25 people
• Control, manage & order stock & calculate GP
• Ensure high standards of merchandising and product pricing are maintained
• Perform daily cash-ups & banking
• Daily open & close of the Butchery (Mon to Sat)
• Ensure orders are placed for adequate stock holding and ensure delivered goods are properly checked and received weekly
• Manage cashiers and POS systems
• Manage office and CIT procedures
• Administer daily cash-up and floats procedures
