Business Development Leader – Logistics & Clearing

Job summary

RecruiTech is seeking a high-performing Business Development lead to launch and grow a new Clearing & Forwarding offering in South Africa. You will identify opportunities across imports, exports and international freight, and build a robust client pipeline.

Collaborating with internal teams, you will shape commercially viable logistics solutions, lead proposals and negotiations, and drive deal closures while expanding the broader logistics portfolio.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Business Development, External Sales or Solution Selling.
• Strong knowledge of Clearing & Forwarding.
• Experience across imports, exports, customs and international freight.
• Exposure to ocean and/or air freight.
• Existing industry relationships and ability to generate new business.
• Strong commercial, negotiation and presentation skills.
• Hunter mentality and entrepreneurial approach.
• Experience across warehousing, 3PL, distribution or supply chain (advantageous).
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, Commerce or related field.
• Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Drive the launch and growth of the new Clearing & Forwarding offering.
• Identify and secure new business across imports, exports and international freight.
• Build relationships with key decision-makers and develop a strong client pipeline.
• Leverage your industry knowledge and network to generate opportunities.
• Understand customer requirements and develop commercially viable logistics solutions.
• Lead proposals, presentations, negotiations and deal closure.
• Work closely with internal teams to ensure successful implementation and handover.
• Identify opportunities to grow the broader logistics and supply chain offering.
