You will lead gathering, process analysis, solution design, testing, and implementation while collaborating with clients, product, and engineering teams to ensure timely, compliant outcomes across South Africa's payments landscape.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in a finance/tech-related field is required.
• Experience in banking, payments, cards, or financial services is essential.
• Strong English communication, both written and verbal.
• Regional experience in a matrix organisation is a plus.
• Ability to translate business needs into technical specs and solutions.

Job Title: Business Analyst – Digital Payments

Employment type: Contract (On-site)

PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT

The Business Analyst will function as the bridge between our team, clients, and technical teams, translating business needs into clear requirements and actionable solutions. Lead requirements gathering, process analysis, solution design, testing, and implementation for commercial card and payment solutions, ensuring alignment with client objectives, standards, and regulatory requirements.

Collaborate with cross-functional and client teams to deliver solutions on time, resolve production issues, and identify opportunities to improve processes, system performance, and client experience. Leverage experience in banking and card payments to support successful delivery and optimization of commercial and payment solutions across South Africa.

Core Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Engage with clients and stakeholders to understand business needs, document requirements, and translate them into clear functional specifications.


• Function as the key bridge between clients, business stakeholders, product teams, and technical teams to ensure alignment and effective communication.


• Collaborate with clients, internal teams, technology partners, and other stakeholders to manage expectations, resolve issues, and drive successful outcomes.


• Support the design, development, integration, testing, and implementation of commercial card and payment solutions, ensuring delivery meets business and client objectives.

Knowledge and Experience:

• Relevant experience in banking, payments, cards, or financial services, with strong understanding of payment ecosystems, card products, transaction processing, and banking operations.


• Previous experience in requirements gathering, business/process analysis, functional specifications, solution design, UAT, and end-to-end implementation of banking or payment solutions.


• Strong experience working across banks, clients, product teams, and technology teams, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and manage delivery across multiple stakeholders.


• A track record in analysing complex business problems and providing actionable recommendations.


• Working with large datasets to extract insights, build dashboards, and produce reports for senior management.


• Building financial, operational, or scenario models to evaluate business opportunities, investments, and strategic initiatives.

Mandatory Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's preferred).


• Previous experience within Banking, Digital Payment & Card solutions or the FinTech industry.


• Regional experience, including working in a faced-paced matrix organisation.


• Excellent communication skills in English (written, verbal, and presentation).

Preferred Skills:

• Good understanding of payment systems, digital platforms, system workflows, security basics, and industry technologies.


• An understanding of regional regulations across financial services or payment networks.
