You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, ensure SANRAL standards, and provide technical guidance during construction, with travel to sites across the Western Cape.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with structural/bridge specialization.
• Pr. Eng registration with ECSA is required.
• Minimum 7 years of bridge design, analysis and inspection experience.
• Proficiency in MIDAS Civil or RM Bridge.
• Strong knowledge of SANRAL specs and bridge design codes.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and report-writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Design new bridges and overpasses, including superstructure and substructure.
• Perform detailed structural analysis and calculations using engineering software.
• Conduct condition assessments and inspections of existing bridges.
• Prepare design reports, drawings, specifications and tender documents.
• Collaborate with road designers, geotechnical engineers and environmental specialists.
• Ensure compliance with SANRAL standards and other bridge codes.

The successful candidate will contribute to the enhancement and maintenance of vital transportation networks. Key Responsibilities

• Design new bridges and overpasses, including superstructure and substructure elements.

• Provide technical guidance and supervision during the construction phase of bridge projects.
• Develop rehabilitation and strengthening strategies for aging bridge structures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structural or Bridge Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng) registration with ECSA is required.
• A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in bridge design, analysis, and inspection.
• Proven experience with various bridge types and construction methods.
• Proficiency in bridge design software such as MIDAS Civil, RM Bridge, or similar.
• Strong knowledge of SANRAL specifications and other relevant bridge design codes.
