You will lead design and analysis, use MIDAS Civil, RM Bridge and CSI Bridge, and collaborate with global project teams. Pr Eng registration with ECSA is essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural/Bridge Engineering.
• Pr Eng registration with ECSA is essential.
• Minimum 10 years of specialized experience in bridge design and project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead conceptualization, design, and analysis of bridge types for highways, railways, and pedestrian use.
• Utilize MIDAS Civil, RM Bridge, CSI Bridge for modeling and design.
• Prepare detailed design calculations, drawings, specs, and tender documents.
• Ensure compliance with national and international bridge codes and standards.
• Collaborate with project managers and other disciplines in a virtual environment.
• Provide technical support during construction and review shop drawings.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the conceptualization, design, and analysis of various bridge types (e.g., concrete, steel, composite) for highways, railways, and pedestrian use.
• Utilize advanced structural analysis software (e.g., MIDAS Civil, RM Bridge, CSI Bridge) for modeling and design.
• Prepare detailed design calculations, drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant national (SANS) and international bridge design codes and standards.
• Conduct independent design reviews and quality checks on bridge projects.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, clients, and other engineering disciplines in a virtual environment.
• Provide technical support during the construction phase, including reviewing shop drawings and responding to site queries remotely.
• Mentor and guide less experienced engineers within the bridge engineering team.
• Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in bridge engineering and construction.
• Contribute to business development activities, including proposal preparation and client presentations.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering, with a strong focus on Structural or Bridge Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is essential.
• A minimum of 10 years of specialized experience in bridge design and project delivery.
• Demonstrated expertise in finite element analysis and advanced bridge design methodologies.
• Proficiency with industry-leading bridge design software.
• Thorough understanding of bridge construction techniques and materials.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects and lead design teams remotely.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, adaptable for virtual collaboration.
• Self-motivated, disciplined, and able to work effectively with minimal supervision.
