Karen Tupper Recruitment is seeking an experienced Hotel Operations Manager to oversee daily hotel functions and uphold high service standards in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town. You will manage reservations, guest enquiries and online platforms, while guiding a small team to ensure smooth operations.

You will lead front-of-house activities, coordinate conferencing, and maintain strong guest relations, ensuring that check-ins/outs and housekeeping meet the hotel’s quality requirements.

Qualifications

• SA Citizen with Matric / Grade 12 and South African work authorization.
• Minimum 5 years in hospitality, guest house, or hotel operations.
• Experience in supervisory or management role.
• Full computer literacy and experience with booking and admin systems.
• Knowledge of NightsBridge and online platforms such as Apply Below and Expedia.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing all daily hotel operations and ensuring the highest standards of service and presentation.
• Handling general administration, reservations, guest enquiries and bookings.
• Managing online booking platforms, including Apply Below, Expedia and other relevant channels.
• Using and managing the NightsBridge booking system efficiently.
• Overseeing breakfast service and ensuring guests receive attentive, quality service.
• Coordinating conferencing arrangements and ensuring all requirements are met.
• Managing and supporting the housekeeping team.
• Conducting regular inspections of guest rooms and public areas to ensure cleanliness, maintenance and presentation meet the required standards.
• Managing guest arrivals and departures, including check-ins and check-outs.
• Building positive relationships with guests and ensuring that enquiries, requests and complaints are handled professionally and efficiently.
• Supervising and coordinating a small team of employees.
• Maintaining accurate records, attending to operational requirements and ensuring that all aspects of the establishment run smoothly.

Minimum Requirements:

• SA Citizen
• Matric / Grade 12 qualification
• A minimum of 5 years' experience in the hospitality, guest house or hotel industry.
• Proven experience in a supervisory or management role would be advantageous.
• Full computer literacy and confidence in using booking and administrative systems.
• Good working knowledge of the NightsBridge reservation system.
• Experience with online booking platforms such as Apply Below and Expedia.
• Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
• Strong organisational and administrative abilities.
• The ability to manage, motivate and work alongside a small team.
• Excellent guest relations and customer service skills.
• A professional, presentable appearance and a friendly, welcoming manner.
• Own, reliable transport.
• Preferably reside in the Southern Suburbs.
