Key Responsibilities

• Lead architectural design for boutique hotels, resorts, lodges, and high-end restaurants.
• Develop innovative and contextually appropriate design concepts that align with brand identity and guest experience.
• Prepare detailed architectural drawings, specifications, and presentation materials.
• Collaborate with interior designers, landscape architects, and other consultants to ensure integrated design solutions.
• Manage client relationships and facilitate design presentations and workshops.
• Oversee project documentation, approvals, and coordination with contractors during construction.
• Conduct site analysis and feasibility studies for new hospitality projects.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant building codes, accessibility standards, and environmental regulations.
• Stay abreast of global trends in hospitality design, architecture, and guest experiences.

Requirements

• Professional Architect registration with SACAP or eligibility for registration.
• Minimum of 6 years of progressive architectural experience, with a significant focus on hospitality design.
• A strong and compelling portfolio showcasing successful boutique hotel and high-end hospitality projects.
• Demonstrated ability in conceptual design, space planning, and detailed architectural documentation.
• Proficiency in architectural software such as Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and rendering programs.
• Excellent understanding of hospitality operations, guest flow, and amenity planning.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, and timelines effectively.
• A creative mindset with a passion for innovative design and materiality.
• Knowledge of local planning regulations and building codes in the Western Cape.
