About the Role

Our client, a high-end hospitality design firm, is seeking a specialized Boutique Hotel Design Architect for a significant contract role based in the prestigious area of Sandton, Gauteng . This position focuses on the design and development of unique, luxury boutique hotels and resorts. You will be responsible for conceptualizing and delivering distinctive architectural solutions that blend innovative design with impeccable attention to guest experience, comfort, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in high-end hospitality design, a keen understanding of luxury branding, and the ability to create inspiring and memorable spaces. You will collaborate with interior designers, branding consultants, and developers to realize a cohesive and exceptional vision. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architectural design of luxury boutique hotels and resorts, from concept to completion.
• Develop unique and contextually relevant architectural concepts that embody luxury and guest experience.
• Create detailed architectural plans, elevations, sections, and specifications.
• Collaborate closely with interior designers to ensure seamless integration of architectural and interior elements.
• Work with branding consultants to translate brand identity into the physical design.
• Coordinate with MEP engineers, structural engineers, and other consultants.
• Ensure designs meet all relevant building codes, accessibility standards, and fire safety regulations.
• Manage client relationships and present design proposals effectively.
• Oversee the construction administration phase, ensuring design integrity and quality execution.
• Stay updated on luxury hospitality trends and innovative design solutions.

Requirements

• Professional Architect registration with SACAP.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in architectural practice, with a significant focus on luxury hospitality projects.
• Demonstrated success in designing boutique hotels, high-end resorts, or similar luxury establishments.
• A strong portfolio showcasing award-winning or highly acclaimed hospitality designs.
• Expertise in architectural design software, including Revit, AutoCAD, and advanced visualization tools.
• Deep understanding of luxury market expectations, materials, and finishes.
• Excellent understanding of operational requirements for hotels and resorts.
• Strong client management and presentation skills.
• Ability to manage complex projects and lead multidisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of international hospitality design trends and best practices.
