Placements24 is seeking an experienced General Manager for a luxury boutique hotel in the Free State. The role requires hands-on leadership, a focus on personalized guest service, and a deep understanding of the luxury hospitality market.

You will drive overall strategic direction, financial performance, and operational excellence while guiding a diverse team to sustain the property’s unique character in Welkom. Strong F&B, budgeting, and stakeholder management are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of hotel management experience.
• Background in boutique or luxury properties preferred.
• Strong budgeting, P&L, and forecasting skills.
• Excellent leadership and communication abilities.
• Willing to reside in or commute to Welkom, SA.
• Eligibility to work in South Africa.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all hotel operations including front office, F&B, housekeeping, maintenance, and sales.
• Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve financial goals.
• Manage budget, control expenses, and maximize profitability.
• Lead, train, and motivate staff to deliver guest experiences.
• Ensure brand standards and service quality.
• Develop marketing and sales strategies to attract guests.
• Maintain relationships with local businesses and suppliers.
