Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Lead BIM Architect to drive BIM strategy, standards, and workflows for global architectural projects. This fully remote role requires strong leadership, technical BIM expertise, and the ability to mentor diverse teams across continents.

You will develop BIM standards, BEPs, and templates, while training staff and collaborating with project managers to ensure seamless BIM integration throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or related field.
• Professional Architect registration with SACAP or equivalent.
• 10+ years architectural experience, 7+ years BIM implementation/management.
• Experience with BIM software: Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360/ACC.
• Knowledge of BIM standards and ISO 19650.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive BIM strategies, standards, and workflows for architectural projects across the organization.
• Lead the adoption and integration of BIM technologies and processes, ensuring seamless collaboration among design teams, consultants, and stakeholders.
• Manage and oversee BIM execution plans (BEPs) for various projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance on BIM software, tools, and best practices to architectural and design teams.
• Conduct training sessions and workshops to enhance the BIM proficiency of staff at all levels.
• Collaborate with project managers and discipline leads to ensure effective BIM integration throughout the project lifecycle, from conceptual design to construction documentation and beyond.
• Troubleshoot BIM-related issues and provide solutions to ensure project continuity and efficiency.
• Stay abreast of the latest developments in BIM technology and methodologies, evaluating and recommending new tools and techniques.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional Architect registration with SACAP or equivalent professional body.
• Minimum of 10 years of architectural experience, with at least 7 years focused specifically on BIM implementation and management.
• Extensive experience with industry-leading BIM software (e.g., Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360/ACC).
• In-depth knowledge of BIM standards and protocols (e.g., ISO 19650).
• Proven experience in developing and enforcing BIM standards, workflows, and templates.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor teams in a remote work environment.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
