Qualifications

• Matric.
• Bachelor degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Finance, or Healthcare Administration.
• Minimum of 8 years’ relevant management experience.
• Experience in the medical scheme financial accounting and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Strategically manage and lead the Billing Department to optimise operational efficiency and effectiveness.
• Enhance quality initiatives across all operational areas, resulting in improved accuracy and customer satisfaction.
• Liaise with relevant Managers to address major findings that impact service delivery, ensuring timely resolution and improved service performance.
• Implement performance enhancements across all business processes, leading to increased productivity and streamlined operations.
• Review and propose enhancements to current business processes within the department, resulting in improved efficiency and reduced errors.
• Support the planning and development of new system and business processes for the Member Services and Quality Assurance Departments, enabling seamless operations and improved customer experiences.
• Demonstrate leadership and complex organisational management skills, fostering a high-performing team and a positive work culture.
• Provide guidance, coaching, and mentoring to employees within the portfolio, fostering professional growth and development.
• Determine appropriate staffing levels, considering constant growth, to ensure adequate resources and efficient workload distribution.
• Monitor ongoing training and development needs of employees, resulting in a skilled and knowledgeable workforce.
• Achieve succession planning and develop employees to meet objectives and goals, ensuring a talent pipeline for future leadership positions.
• Create clear succession plans for key positions reporting directly to the portfolio, ensuring business continuity and smooth transitions.
• Manage staff performance in alignment with job descriptions, fostering accountability and a culture of high performance.
• Embed performance excellence practices to align team goals with the business scorecard, resulting in improved performance metrics.
• Intervene in areas requiring immediate attention to foster harmonisation and accelerate performance, resolving issues promptly and minimising disruptions.
• Effectively manage and optimise the department budget, ensuring financial resources are allocated efficiently and cost-effectively.
• Explore cost-saving mechanisms in all operational activities, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and improved financial performance.
• Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders related to the Billing Department, fostering collaborative partnerships.
• Share thoughts and suggestions on performance and quality improvements within the department and the broader business, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
• Participate in business-related matters and provide input as required, ensuring effective decision-making and strategic alignment.
