Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dynamic, bilingual Childminder & Activity Coordinator in Cape Town, Western Cape. You will provide nurturing childcare, plan engaging indoor/outdoor activities, and support academic development while ensuring safety.

Must be fluent in English and another SA language, with a valid driver’s license and First Aid/CPR certifications. Role involves occasional travel with the family and a monthly salary with annual performance bonus.

Qualifications

• Experience in childcare, preferably with multiple children.
• Fluency in English and at least one other South African language.
• Understanding of child development stages and age-appropriate activities.
• Creative and energetic with a passion for organizing engaging activities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage time effectively and multitask.
• Responsible, patient, and reliable with a genuine affinity for children.
• Willingness to undergo background checks and provide excellent references.
• Must be legally eligible to work in South Africa.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive and safe childcare for children of various ages.
• Plan, organize, and lead stimulating indoor and outdoor activities.
• Utilize bilingual skills to enhance language development and cultural understanding.
• Assist with homework and provide academic support.

• Maintain a tidy, safe, and hygienic play environment.
• Coordinate children's schedules, school arrangements, and extracurriculars.
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding activities and progress.
• Model positive behavior, manners, and healthy habits.
• Manage children's routines, including bedtime and meals, with consistency.
