Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Pediatric Development Specialist & Nanny for a prominent family in Cape Town. You will oversee holistic child development, blending early childhood education with hands-on childcare in a nurturing home setting.

The role requires a Bachelor's in a related field and at least 4 years of developmental childcare experience, with first aid/CPR, a valid driver's license, and English fluency (Afrikaans/Xhosa a plus).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Experience in nurturing and developmental support for young children.
• Knowledge of child psychology and milestones.

Responsibilities

• Design age-appropriate educational programs and activities targeting cognitive, social, and motor development.
• Provide direct childcare including feeding, hygiene, naps, and safe play.
• Monitor and assess developmental progress and address areas needing support.
• Collaborate with parents to set routines and educational goals, with regular feedback.
• Prepare healthy meals and snacks suited to dietary needs.
• Manage behavior with positive discipline strategies.
• Organize educational outings and activities within Cape Town.
• Keep living space tidy and organized for the children.
• Administer basic first aid and prescribed medications; liaise with healthcare providers.
• Maintain records of activities, milestones, and concerns.
