This role blends the responsibilities of a caring companion with the focus of an educational facilitator, aiming to foster bilingualism (English and Afrikaans) and a lifelong love for learning. The successful candidate will be instrumental in creating a stimulating and nurturing environment, both within the family home and during outings to local attractions and activities that support the children's development. This position requires a proactive individual who can engage the children in enriching activities, assist with their schoolwork, and ensure their daily routines are managed smoothly. Key Responsibilities

• Provide attentive and engaging care for two children, aged 6 and 9, in a bilingual environment (English & Afrikaans).
• Assist children with homework and school projects, ensuring academic support.
• Organize and participate in age-appropriate educational and recreational activities, both indoors and outdoors.
• Plan and prepare healthy snacks and light meals for the children.
• Manage children's daily schedules, including school pick-ups/drop-offs, playtime, and rest periods.
• Foster language development in both English and Afrikaans through conversation and play.
• Ensure the children's safety and well-being at all times.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding the children's daily activities and progress.
• Maintain tidiness in the children's play areas and bedrooms.
• Accompany children on outings to museums, parks, libraries, and other educational venues.

Requirements

• Proven experience working with children, preferably as an au pair, nanny, or tutor.
• Fluency in both English and Afrikaans is essential.
• A passion for education and child development.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
