Job summary

PBT Group in Cape Town seeks an experienced BIBA Team Lead on a contract basis to coordinate BI initiatives, govern reporting standards, and lead a team of BI Analysts.

You will partner with Data Architects, Data Engineers and stakeholders to deliver governed, scalable reporting solutions with strong Power BI, SQL and data governance expertise. This role is hybrid in Cape Town and contract-based.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years' experience in BI, analytics, or data environments.
• Proven experience leading BI teams, reporting functions, or governance initiatives.
• Strong experience gathering, documenting, and prioritising business requirements.
• Demonstrated experience implementing and enforcing reporting standards and data governance practices.
• Experience working within complex cross-functional environments with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, coach, and develop BI Analysts in a hybrid environment.
• Coordinate workload and oversee delivery across the BI function.
• Provide guidance to self-service BI developers and analysts in business units.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels; drive communities of practice.
