Placements24 is seeking an experienced Agribusiness Development Manager to lead supply chain optimization in Gauteng. Based in Benoni, you will drive efficiency, sustainability and profitability across the value chain, from sourcing to delivery.

The role requires building strong supplier and client relationships, identifying growth opportunities and implementing innovative logistics and market access strategies. Leadership and strategic thinking are essential.

Qualifications

• MBA or related Master’s degree in business or agribusiness.
• 8+ years in agribusiness development or supply chain roles.
• Proven ability to develop strategies and optimize value chains.
• Knowledge of Gauteng agricultural markets is advantageous.
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategies to optimize the agricultural supply chain.
• Identify and cultivate new business opportunities with farmers and processors.
• Manage supplier relationships for quality and competitive pricing.
• Oversee logistics, transport and warehousing to ensure timely delivery.
• Analyze market trends to inform product development and penetration strategies.
• Develop contract farming agreements and outgrower schemes.
• Monitor KPIs related to supply chain performance and growth.
• Lead and mentor a team of agribusiness professionals.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, quality and sustainability practices.
• Contribute to strategic planning and business development of the company.
