Placements24 is seeking a talented Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in a busy banqueting and events kitchen in Rustenburg. You will help manage operations, ensure high food quality, and contribute to menu development for a variety of events.

The role requires strong culinary skills, leadership, and the ability to work under pressure. Flexible hours for evenings and weekends are expected to support events and banquets.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Sous Chef or Chef de Partie in catering or hotel environments.
• Strong culinary skills with broad knowledge of techniques and ingredients.
• Excellent understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations (HACCP).
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage time effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Chef in daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating.
• Supervise and guide junior kitchen staff to ensure consistency and quality.
• Contribute to menu planning, recipe development, and costing for banqueting events.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, sanitation, and food safety in the kitchen.
• Manage inventory, stock rotation, and ordering of ingredients.
• Act as Head Chef in their absence to ensure continuity of service.
