You will support the Executive Chef, plan menus, mentor staff, and ensure top-quality food, cost control, and compliance across busy banqueting environments in vibrant Durban.

Qualifications

• 6+ years progressive culinary experience, with 3+ years in a senior banqueting role.
• Proven track record managing kitchen operations for large events (100+ guests).
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of international cuisines and current trends; HACCP knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Executive Chef with menu planning, development and execution for all banqueting events.
• Supervise banqueting kitchen staff and coordinate daily operations for efficiency.
• Oversee food preparation, presentation and quality control across events.
• Manage inventory, stock rotation and ordering to control costs and waste.
• Ensure health, safety and sanitation standards are strictly followed in the kitchen.
• Mentor and evaluate staff performance; lead the kitchen in Chef's absence.
• Collaborate with event managers and service staff for flawless event delivery.
