Placements24 is seeking a talented Banqueting Chef to lead culinary operations for all catered events at our Soweto venue. You will design menus, manage a busy banqueting kitchen, and supervise staff to deliver exceptional food quality and presentation.

You will ensure food safety, control costs, mentor the team, and collaborate with event planners to create memorable dining experiences across intimate functions and large-scale events in Gauteng.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Banqueting Chef or Sous Chef with banqueting responsibilities.
• Culinary degree or equivalent professional qualification.
• Strong knowledge of various cuisines and modern culinary techniques.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage a high-pressure environment and meet strict deadlines.
• Proficiency in menu costing and inventory management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the banqueting kitchen operations, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality food production.
• Develop creative and seasonal menus for banquets and special events, catering to diverse client needs and dietary requirements.
• Manage food costs, inventory control, and procurement of ingredients to ensure profitability and freshness.
• Lead, train, and mentor the banqueting kitchen team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
• Ensure strict adherence to all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations.
• Collaborate with the Banqueting Manager and event planners to ensure seamless event execution and client satisfaction.
