Placements24 is seeking a talented Sous Chef specializing in banqueting to join our culinary team in Tembisa. You will support the Head Chef in executing large-scale catering events, ensuring excellence in food quality, preparation, and presentation.

You will contribute to menu development, kitchen management, and staff supervision, bringing expertise in classical and contemporary cuisine to high-pressure service environments.

Qualifications

• Formal culinary training or equivalent experience with a proven track record as a Sous Chef.
• Extensive knowledge of various cooking techniques, ingredients, and international cuisines.
• Experience in banqueting or large-volume catering is essential.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide kitchen personnel.
• Excellent understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety protocols (e.g., HACCP).
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and maintain high standards during peak service periods in Tembisa.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef in planning, preparing, and executing menus for banquets and large-scale events.
• Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating according to established standards.
